Introducing my E-Commerce Website Prototype, a project crafted during my Master’s degree to fulfill the requirements of the “Internet Applications” course. Developed with .Net and Bootstrap, the primary goal was to establish a dynamic, user-friendly platform for efficient administration and seamless customer experiences.
This innovative solution caters to two user categories: online shoppers and website administrators. Registered users can effortlessly navigate the platform, browse products, add items to their cart, and make dummy payments. The system prioritizes user convenience and aims to attract new customers through its web interface.
The website’s dual functionality extends to administrators who can manage users, products, orders, and reviews. Members registered through a dedicated page, gaining exclusive access to order products, submit reviews, and update their profiles. The product catalog dynamically showcases a variety of offerings, allowing customers to add selected items to their shopping carts.
Payment processing is facilitated through various options, with a dummy payment method implemented for assignment purposes. Although lacking a real payment gateway, users can modify shipping details during the payment phase, marking orders as ‘PAID’ upon completion.
Administrators wield control over user and product management, enabling the addition, modification, or deletion of users and products. They also oversee user feedback and respond to queries and suggestions. Seven key functionalities define this project, including member registration, administrative functions, product catalog, shopping cart, payment support, product delivery, and customer feedback.
The solution, developed with ASP.Net and C# on the Visual Studio platform, incorporates Bootstrap CSS for responsive design across desktop and mobile devices. To run the website, any visual studio program can be utilized, provided the Microsoft .Net server is present. Hosting on a server requires linking a suitable domain with a Windows hosting plan and implementing source files and databases. An internet connection is essential for proper functionality due to the Bootstrap links utilizing CDN.
